![]() ![]() Since Lucy-B is gone from her universe (now living in Universe-C), no one will ever see that particular Lucy again, and everyone will just mistakenly believe Lucy-A is their Lucy! If that's the case, then Lucy-B might likewise trigger yet another branching event, creating Universe-C! Universe-C would then contain her (Lucy-B), and whisk her away within the folds of it's own timeline. She too might have jumped back in time to the year 1937 in her Universe-B. Well, maybe that's because Lucy-B is gone somewhere. So there is indeed a birth certificate that exists for a "Lucy" in Universe-B.Ĥ) So if there are 2 Lucys in Universe B, why didn't they run into each other at the house? If an observer in Universe-B dug deeper into your background, that person would say that you don't exist (there's no record of a birth certificate, etc.).īut nevertheless, there you are! You do exist, and you do have a physical/real point of origin in history (except that your historic point of origin begins at Universe-A)!Īs for the scenario in the TV show Timeless, it is a bit trickier, but it could go like this:ġ) Lucy A, in Universe-A, in 2016, presses a button, and goes back in time, and changes things.Ģ) This then causes a new Universe-B to branch off.ģ) Universe-B now has 2 Lucys! There should be 2 Lucys in this scenario, since unlike the example further above, she never interfered with the meeting of her Grandparents. Universe-B: now contains you (and NO other version of you, since your Grandparents never met in the timeline of Universe-B). This paradox is, of course, a HUGE topic, but one way for the universe to handle this paradox would be through parallel universes.ġ) In Universe-A you step into the time machine, and prevent your Grandparents from meeting.Ģ) At that moment, once you've prevented them from meeting, Universe-A branches off into a new timeline we can call "Universe-B", which now contains you. In other words, if you go back in time and prevent your Grandfather from meeting your Grandmother, then you'll never exist.Įrgo, how could you have possibly gone back in time in the first place, if you never existed? Well, I think what you are saying here is essentially what is known as the "Grandfather Paradox". R/television's favorite shows of all time (2022 edition) So get ready to blast off in a rocket fuelled Starfield performance preview.>!Spoiler!!Television!< becomes Television Links ![]() We also compare the improvements over the previous showing, enhancements within the engine, and much more. The biggest question after the show(s) was: why is it 30fps on Xbox Series X and Series S and not 60fps? In this IGN Performance preview, we dive into the details shared by the team, the revealed PC minimum and recommended specifications, and how the Creation Engine 2 works, comparing the previous games to gauge some of the potential reasons why the team might have chosen 30fps. With Starfield being the center of the Xbox 2023 Showcase last week, Bethesda gave us a deep dive into one of the biggest games this generation. The mystery here, which is sort of fun, is what could the villain be after at a notable event that's already filled with death and fire? Here, in the series premiere, our mismatched trio of Spencer's historian, Barrett's tech, and Lanter's soldier zoom back to 1937 New Jersey in order to prevent bad things from happening to. ![]() It can get right into the craziness of the premise without too much exposition. Timeless pretty much is able to exist on a simple baseline level because of all the time travel stories that have come before it and woven themselves into our pop-culture absorbing brains. And our three heroes - played by Abigail Spencer (Rectify), Malcolm Barrett (Better Off Ted), and Matt Lanter (Star Wars: The Clone Wars) - need to go back in time and stop a villain (Goran Visnjic) from changing the course of history. It's goofy, glossy and it gets right into the time travel elements immediately. Play The silver lining here is that the show is designed for an audience that might not be able to handle anything more complex. ![]()
